Kennewick woman recovering from lung transplant

Posted: Updated:

WASHINGTON--  The past two months have been both a struggle and a dream come true for Alicia Foss.

"I got the call for the transplant and it ended up being a go," she tells us during a phone interview.  "I got the call April 13th and had the surgery April 14th."

We first met her last year, waiting by her phone for a double lung transplant call to come.  When it came, Alicia was ready.   And aside from a few medical set-backs, her recovery has been impressive.

"Right now I can't push or pull or lift anything, but after 2 weeks I'll be able to do a whole lot more," she adds.

She's been cooped up in Seattle for months with sparse trips out of town here and there.  But through social networking websites like facebook, she's able to map out her journey.   Soon enough she'll be back home for good, healthier than ever.

"[The doctor] said in 2 weeks when I see him again, if I can get up on the hospital table by myself then I can go home."
