AAA predicts big travel weekend

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.--  AAA estimates 17-percent more people will hit the road this 4th of July weekend than last.  AAA cites an improved economy, gas that's around the same price as last year, and the 4th falling on a weekend are all factors.  Also, AAA says many people stayed home last year and are ready to venture out.

However, people traveling, means more traffic.  If you're planning to drive, check out the Washington State Department of Transporation's website.  It has peak travel times, days, and roadways.  Click here or call 511.
