Utilizing social media during your job search

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- When you are out of work, formal interviews can be intimidating and just getting your foot in the door can be very frustrating.

Three employees at &Yet, a web application development company, say they found a way around the stressful process. They used social media, like twitter.com and facebook.com to land their jobs with "old-fashioned" networking.

Adam Brault, the Founder of &yet says twitter helped him get to know his future employees better than any interview could. "You get a sense of values; what people care about, what they're passionate about. You can't get that from a resume or an interview, those things can be faked," explained Brault.

He also said social media is a great way to research a job you want, and to get to know future employers.
