Disabled military veterans scheduled to climb Mt. Rainier

Posted: Updated:

Climbing 14-thousand feet up Mt. Rainier is a tremendous accomplishment for anyone, but for a group of disabled military veterans, it's just one more challenge to conquer.

A local organization called Camp Patriot, which is aimed at providing disabled vets with new opportunities is preparing for another amazing adventure.

The creator of Camp Patriot says going up Mt. Rainier is a great therapeutic tool.

"The outdoors are therapeutic anyway, so to give back in that way I think it's a good recovery process and you can't beat being in the outdoors to start that process," Micah Clark said.

The group is scheduled to begin the climb July 11th.
