Boating and Cell Phones

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.- Viewers have been asking, can you drive a boat while talking on a cell phone?

The answer is yes.  Operating a boat and talking on your cell phone is legal.  But most people don't agree with the law.

This is what you had to say:

"It makes me nervous being out on the water seeing someone out there on their cell phone. They're not concentrating on driving on the water."– Kat Livengood

"I think it's a big distraction kind of like driving but they lose their sense of where they're at and could crash."– Seth Ackley

"Accidents can happen in the blink of an eye on the water. " – Michelle Bricker

But not all are against boaters using their cell phones.  One man, who did not want to go on camera or for his name to be used, said he thinks there is nothing wrong with it.
