BURBANK, Wash., -- If you want to go camping this Fourth of July weekend and didn't plan ahead, it may not happen.
Kye Carpenter, the Assistant Natural Resource Manger says, " Fourth of July weekends is one of our biggest weekends. All of our campgrounds are full. We're completely booked." Carpenter, who is in charge of the five largest parks in the Walla Walla District says it's been crazy the last two years, "Last year we were so full, I had to have a park ranger man the gate. He had to let one vehicle out and only then he could let one in..The park was completely full to capacity."
Donna woods , who camps at Hood Park in Burbank often planned far ahead to get a good spot for the holiday. Woods says, "we booked it back in January to make sure we got it. If you don't book it early, the spots are gone. This is like the hot spot of the area to camp in."
Last year several campers brought up the concern of migrant workers taking up camping ground. But Carpenter says cherry picking season is at it's end and, " As far as I know, it's not an issue this year."
