Yakima prosecutor to rappel 40 story building in Seattle

YAKIMA, Wash. - Yakima County Prosecutor will rappel 40 stories from Seattle's Rainier Tower in August.

Prosecutor Jim Hagarty has agreed to participate in the "Over the Edge" Special Olympics Fundraiser.

Hagarty needs to raise $1,000 in donations for the rappelling event.

All proceeds will go to Special Olympics Washington. This year, organizers hope to raise $120,000 for local athletes.

The two-day even kicks off with a special "pre-rappel day" on Friday, August 13th, from 1:00p.m. until 4:00p.m. On Saturday, August 14th, beginning at 8:00a.m. until 8:00p.m., 95 volunteers will rappel 514 feet down the west side of the building.

The event will be at the Rainier Tower at 1301 Fifth Avenue, on the rooftop pavilion and the street below.
