KENNEWICK, Wash., -- Free Fries Fryday is coming back to the Tri-Cities for its second year. Last year, more than 30 restaurants participated around town to give out free french fries to kick off the Water Follies. This year Free Fries Fryday hits on July 23rd, and instead of just giving out free fries, Lamb Weston, the sponsor of the event is helping fight hunger too.
Lisa Bescherer, the Senior Director of Marketing at Lamb Weston says, "We had such a great time and great response last year that all the restaurants asked us if we would do it again this year. It's a great way to kick of boat race weekend."
Lamb Weston doing it a bit different this year. Bescherer says, "for every serving of fries that Lamb Weston through its participating restaurants gives out on Free Fries Fryday, we'll donate 10 cents per serving for Second Harvest."
Bescherer says you can help even more by getting on Facebook and clicking "Like" under Free Fries Fryday. Lamb Weston will donate a dollar per each person who joins the fan page.
