KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Another Hanford subcontract is awarded to local companies. White Shield Inc. and Apollo Inc. will get nearly $3.7 million as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The money will go towards work on electricity, roads, office trailers, waste container transfer areas and installing water at Hanford.
Apollo projects manager says working with the locally owned White Shield is an ideal situation. Paul Miles says, "We feel really good that we're able to sponsor other small businesses in the area and we feel really pleased and proud to be a part of the Hanford projects.
Two of the three major Hanford contractors say they have already awarded $270 million of stimulus money to local companies.
