NEAR RIMROCK LAKE, Wash. – A 28-year-old man was taken Harborview Medical Center in Seattle Friday morning after suffering a head injury on Thursday night during a swimming accident.
A Yakima County Sheriff's Office deputy along with Naches Fire and ALS ambulance responded to the scene at the Peninsula Campground on the south side of the lake.
The Selah man dived into the lake and hit his head on a submerged rock, according to YSO. Witnesses say the water appeared to be deep but was actually only four to five feet in depth.
Family of the victim is still being notified so his name has not been released.
