Tastes of Gesa StadiumPosted: Updated:
Joe Gorchow's Experience:
On Thursday night I had a chance to take a tour of all the food shacks at Gesa Stadium. The home of the Tri-City Devils. It should be noted I do not have a discriminating palate; therefore, I may not be the best food critic in the world. However, I am willing to give it go, so you can make the best food choices possible the next time you take in a Dust Devils game.
The must have: The Dust Burger at the Fry Shack. It's a cheeseburger loaded with sweet potato fries, surrounded by more potato fries. The mixture of the sweet potato fries and the cheeseburger make for one delicious greasy combination.
After the Dusty Burger, the clear runner-up has to be the nachos at the Big Burrito. It has everything from guacamole, to refried beans, to sour cream, and a perfectly designed presentation. On looks alone, its a winning combo.
If you're in the mood: If the heat is getting to you, then there is one place to go, Tropical Sno. Pick out a combination of flavors or just one, and then begin the cool down process. My personal favorite is the Strawberry Guava.
The Philly cheesesteak at Magill's. The sirloin steak in the cheesesteak is prime. No question's asked. It's a little bready, but the Cougar's Gold sauce brings the sandwich back to life.
If you have a big party: No question go to the VIP, and tell Derrell, the GM, to get some cheese with those burgers. Tell him, Joe sent you. If you actually go up to Derrell, then seriously don't mention my name, fact.
