Friends and family gather today in Kennewick to welcome home Alicia Foss, the 27-year-old who had a double lung transplant.
Alicia waited 4 years to get the call from a Seattle hospital about getting a new pair of lungs, and in April it finally came.
the surgery was a success and Alicia suffered only a few setbacks on the way to recovery. she tells us being able to walk without an oxygen tank is a whole new experience.
"For the last 4 years I've been in a wheelchair," Alicia said. "So walking for me would be from the couch to my bedroom or from the car to a restaurant and this is the most I've done in four years."
