Blowing dust causing road closures

Posted: Updated:

State Patrol Troopers want you to watch out for blowing dust on some Eastern Washington Highways. They say the blowing dust is causing zero visibility in Adams County, south of Ritzville and in Grant County, north of Moses Lake.

Current Road Closures:

  • Stratford Road closed at County Road 18-NE northbound and closed southbound at the town of Stratford.
  • County Road 20-NE at Road I-NE which is about five miles east of Soap Lake.
  • State Route 261 about three miles south of Ritzville.

A two car collision is blocking all lanes on SR 261 near milepost 60. Also, road emergency responders are en route to a vehicle crash at the intersection of Rd 20 NE and Stratford Road.

Due to high winds which are not supposed to subside until this evening, further road closures may be implemented.
