KENNEWICK, Wash.- Construction for the new Benton County Animal Control facility has begun.
After five years of work by the county commissioners, the facility will be built on Grant Court in Kennewick. The project costs about $820,000. The building will be 3,200 square feet with 32 kennels, a medical room, a puppy room and an office.
This is the first time ever Benton County will have a place for lost animals. They plan to open in January 2011.
They do need your help. They are asking for donations to help start a spayed and neuter program. If you want to help, send your donations to the Benton County Treasurer and they will pass it on to the Benton County Animal Control.
