Blown transformer in Kennewick caused power outage

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- A blown transformer in the area of Kennewick Ave. & Union St. temporarily knocked out power to homes and businesses in the area.

Benton PUD leaders say a crow flew into a power line around 8:30 AM. Firefighters had to put out a small fire started by the sparking power line

Electricity was off at almost 1,000 homes and a few intersections for about a half an hour. It took about two hours to get power back to another 70 homeowners.
