Cowiche wildfire has burned 6,200 acres

COWICHE, Wash. - The Cowiche wildfire has burned 6,200 acres and 100 more firefighters are being added to the 200 already working the fire.

A spokesperson for the West Valley Fire Department told KNDO on Monday, the fire is about 15-percent contained.

Firefighters from seven counties are on the ground in Yakima, and are holding the fire line.

The spokesperson said the fire is under control and homes are not being threatened at this time.
