Prosser, WA- The former candidate for governor now running for the United States Senate says the business climate has to change in Washington, D.C. before business can improve in Washington State.
Dino Rossi visited Mercer Estate Winery in Prosser and other small businesses today. Along the way, Rossi criticized incumbent Senator Patty Murray for supporting the health care bill, bailouts, and financial reform.
Rossi says economic recovery is slow because business owners are hoarding their money, afraid of what the government is going to do next.
"You have a government that seems to be committed to creating this commanding, controlling, centralized government in Washington, D.C. They're controlling car companies, banks, insurance companies, health care, and it goes on and on and on."
Rossi sides with other republicans who support extending unemployment benefits, but only if congress finds a way to pay for it, without going deeper into debt.
