City manager has results of Capt. Light investigation
YAKIMA, Wash. -- New information involving an ongoing investigation with the Yakima Police Department.
Captain Rod Light has been on paid administrative leave since April while accusations of misconduct were investigated. Now, the city manager has the results of that investigation.
The city hired a private consulting firm to investigate Light, but never officially released details of the allegations. Tuesday night city council held an executive session, which is closed to the public and the media, but pending and prospective litigation are listed under their agenda.
City Manager Dick Zais can't comment on the session, but did say the consulting firm has released their findings on the Light investigation. Zais and the city's legal department are now reviewing the results. Zais would not set a deadline for his decision.
