Cowiche Mill Rd Fire fully contained

COWICHE, Wash. -- A spokesperson for the West Valley Fire Department said Cowiche Mill Road fire was 100 percent contained by late Wednesday afternoon.

Crews with Highland and West Valley Fire will continue to patrol the fire daily.

The fire burned 6,200 acres.

Investigators have projected the costs of the fire to be $800,000. They said $184,000 of that are from the aircraft suppression costs from Sunday.

An investigation is ongoing into what started the Cowiche fire.

Meanwhile, there is an ongoing investigation into the cause of the fire that destroyed a $400,000 W.V. fire engine.
