COWICHE, Wash. -- West Valley firefighters have posted arson signs at the site of Sunday's Cowiche Mill Road fire.
A spokesperson for WV Fire told KNDO Friday, they have determined the cause of the fire as "man caused" and are hoping the signs will get people to call with any information they know about who might be responsible for starting the fire. Investigators are not saying at this time whether the fire is arson.
The fire burned 6,200 acres.
Fire costs have been estimated at about $800,000.
Wednesday, the fire was 100 percent contained.
While most of the 300 firefighters have left the fire, some firefighters will remain on site to monitor for any hot spots and to answer questions residents might have during the weekend.
Anyone with information that could help in the investigation is asked to contact the Yakima County Fire Marshal at (509) 574-2941.
