Sunnyside gets another step closer to a new City Manager
Yakima, WASH-- The city of Sunnyside is one step closer to having a City Manager. Yesterday the final four candidates interviewed with the city council and with a community panel. The position has been vacant since the city council fired the previous city manager last year. The mayor says that on top of being qualified he's looking for someone that's a good fit for the city.
"So we want to make sure that the council supports whoever we select and that this individual has all the key factors that we're looking for, communication skills, the ability to work with the public, customer service is a big deal," said Sunnyside Mayor Jim Restucci.
The city council has a scheduled meeting tomorrow. If they come to a, consensus, they could vote on a new city manger as soon Monday night. But Mayor Restucci says the decision must be unanimous.
