Pasco, WA- A man will go on trial in January for murdering his ex-girlfriend.
Attorneys for Gregorio Luna Luna wanted the trial, originally scheduled to begin next month, pushed back to next March. But Superior Court Judge Robert Swisher told the defense team he didn't want to schedule the trial that far out. "Witnesses tend to come and go, and are hard to corral," he said.
Pasco police arrested Luna Luna in May for stabbing 21-year-old Griselda Ocampo Meza at her apartment.
Meza had filed a protection order against Luna Luna as the two argued over their five-year-old son.
Prosecutors says they'll call eight witnesses during the trial. Steve Lowe says the state crime lab is testing a pair of gloves found at the crime scene, which, Lowe believes belong to Luna Luna.
