The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Central Yakima County until 6:45 Wednesday night.
Slow moving thunderstorms to the West of Rimrock Reservoir are producing heavy rain. Radar estimates up to 2.5 inches of rainfall already in the headwaters of the Tieton River. This could cause high flows from Rimrock Reservoir to the confluence of the Naches River.
Rapid runoff and rockslides may occur along steep terrain along the Hwy 12 corridor. Up to one inch of additional rainfall is possible there.
Please take proper precautions if you are driving. Never drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway.
