Posted: Updated:

NEAR YAKIMA, Wash. -- Firefighters reacted quickly to a brush fire Wednesday evening started by lightning.  The fire broke out around 6:00 p.m. near Cook Road and Winchester Road.  It spread quickly because of high winds, but then, rain helped the firefighters. Crews from West Valley, Highland, Naches Heights and Union Gap responded.  The fire burned about 1 1/2 acres of sagebrush, but no one was injured.
