Communities across the Yakima Valley will use National Night Out on Tuesday as a chance to partner with local police departments to improve neighborhood relations and reduce crime.
Sunnyside plans to start the celebration a day early. The Sunnyside Police Department is working with the local chamber of commerce and HAPO Community Credit Union to host an event Monday. They plan to have plenty of activities for the kids plus lots of food at the Sunnyside HAPO branch from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
National Night Out Events:
A Community Expo and Health Fair at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Other neighborhoods in Yakima will have their own block parties.
Union Gap will gather at Loudon Park from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on 3rd Street between Pine Street and Court Street.
Sunnyside plans to have various events throughout the city.
