HYAK, Wash. -- Washington State Department of Transportation crews will temporarily close I-90 throughout this week for controlled rock blasting work east of Snoqualmie Pass.
DOT is working to widen the interstate from four to six lanes as part of the I-90 Snoqualmie Pass East Hyak to Keechelus Dam Project.
Crews have removed approximately 65,000 tons of rock since the start of the blasting operations in June.
Lanes in both directions at milepost 54 to milepost 61 will be closed for blasting from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
