YAKIMA, Wash. -- Irving police have identified the driver in the fatal hit-and-run accident where a Yakima area marine was killed in Texas.

Detectives identified the suspect as Richard Dean, 44, of Hurst, Texas. They said Dean turned himself into the Irving City Jail on Saturday. He was released after posting a $30,000 bond.

Yakama tribal member and marine Evan Sanchey, 23, was killed while crossing the highway on May 19.

A funeral was held for Sanchey a few weeks later in Wapato. Friends and family of Sanchey said he was on his way home from Afghanistan.

The case has been filed with the Dallas County District Attorney's Office.

Richard Dean faces a felony charge of failing to stop and rendering aid.
