YAKIMA, Wash. -- Eligible citizens not currently registered elsewhere in Washington state and want to participate in the upcoming Primary, still have time to register to vote.
Individuals must register in person at the Yakima County Auditor's Office, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. by Monday, August 9.
According to County Auditor Corky Mattingly, the office has received only about 12 percent of the total ballots mailed. Mattingly said it's not unusual to have a lower turnout for the Primary than for the General election.
The deadline to mail-in or drop off your Primary election ballots is August 17.
If you have questions regarding voter registration contact the Yakima County Auditor at (509) 574-1405.
