WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Walla Walla County emergency management says a barn burned Saturday in the wildfire north of the small town of Eureka.
A new estimate shows the fire has spread to about 20,000 acres and is burning in grass,sagebrush and wheat stubble, about 25 miles northwest of Walla Walla.
Firefighters saved a handful of homes, outbuildings and other barns Friday night. Firefighters are hoping to contain the fire by Sunday morning, but containment depends on weather conditions.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
About 200 firefighters are fighting the fire.
