Alleged victims testify in child abuse trial

Posted: Updated:

Kennewick, WA- Alleged victims are taking the stand in the trial of a Benton City man accused of child sex abuse.

Bob Trainor is accused of raping and molesting five girls over a seven-year period. The girls knew Trainor before the abuse began.

In opening statements today, prosecutor Anita Petra described the crime as five secrets kept for years, until the mother of one of the victims discovered a suicide note in which her daughter revealed the abuse.

Trainor sat still in his chair while the girl, now 13, told the jury how Trainor repeatedly raped her once or twice a month for more than three years.

The defense attorney told jurors Trainor is not the monster the prosecutor makes him out to be, but an honest man, who would do anything to help someone.

Trainor works at Hanford and has served as a volunteer captain for Benton County Fire District One.
