Can crushing and finger painting. About 40 kids had a lot of fun learning about recycling today.
Habitat for humanity kicked off their "Youth Can" project focusing on entertaining and teaching children under 14.
The organization hopes the event will create a ripple effect in the community.
"Kids are like sponges they absorb messages very quickly and then they tell their parents when they are excited about something. Then their parents are engaged as well," says volunteer coordinator, Suzanne Carroll.
Habitat for Humanity says the event promotes a clean environment, spreads awareness, and will help earn money to build homes for low income families.
