YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima Sheriff's deputies say a 10-year-old boy falsely reported being kidnapped at his home on Parker Heights Road.

Chief of Detectives Stew Graham, told KNDO Wednesday when detectives spoke to the boy's parents they found he had made-up the whole kidnapping story. It's unclear exactly why the boy fabricated the story.

Deputies sent out a release Tuesday, stating the boy had told deputies a Hispanic man in a blue or white truck came into the home and took him.

The boy claimed at the time a man lead him to a nearby orchard to where the truck was, but the boy was able to free himself and run home.

Sheriff's deputies and block watch searched the area, but were unable to find the suspect vehicle. Deputies also said no physical evidence was found at the home or orchard.

Chief Graham said they will not press any charges.
