YAKIMA, Wash. -- The suspect accused of stabbing and running over another man last month in Sunnyside was charged Friday in Yakima County Superior Court.
Pedro Lopez-Garcia was charged with second-degree murder, third-degree assault, and resisting arrest.
The victim was identified as Pablo Torres Alvarez.
Sunnyside police told KNDO this incident was not gang-related.
Alvarez's death makes it the fourth homicide for Sunnyside, and the 17th homicide for Yakima County this year.
Prosecutors say Lopez-Garcia's bail remains at $1 million. His trial date is set fore September 20.
