SELAH, Wash. -- Selah School District leaders Monday sent out a news release to KNDO stating they've raised funds of $1,000 reward for information on recent break-ins at the schools.
The money will be used as a reward through Crime Stoppers for information leading to the arrest of the suspects responsible for the burglaries of district property.
School leaders say this reward was raised by employees and not the use of school district funds.
Since the end of May, the school has experienced 16 "smash and grab" break-ins where suspects broke windows and took off with equipment, including computers, monitors and projectors. The cost of these items are estimated at $20,000.
Anyone with information on these burglaries are asked to contact the Yakima Valley Crime Stoppers Unit at 1-800-248-9980 or 1-800-222-TIPS.
