KENNEWICK, Wash.— School is back in session soon, and parents are talking about the big dollars spent every year on school supplies.
We wanted to know just how much are parents spending?
One mother we spoke with is shopping for two students giving her two lists. After glue sticks, pencil boxes, spiral notebooks and folders, she spent almost $40. It adds up quickly especially if you have a large family.
Her tip is to set money aside for the end of the summer. But she says she still has to get extra supplies throughout the year.
So, what can parents do? When shopping, ask if they have specials, coupons or a fund. Every small saving helps.
