Coeur d'Alene Hotel Guests Evacuated From Their Rooms Overnight
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho- Kootenai County Fire Crews evacuated hundreds of hotel guests from the AmeriTel Inn and Hotel in Coeur d'Alene early Thursday morning. Crews were responding to a fire alarm at the hotel, and the guests were evacuated for their safety just after 3:00 a.m.
The Hotel, located at 333 W. Ironwood Drive in Coeur d'Alene, has 118 rooms, and one guest told KHQ they were at near full occupancy. The hotel guests were asked to stay in the parking lot while fire crews went through the hotel methodically searching for any signs of smoke or fire.
After about an hour and a half fire crews said they weren't able to find any danger, and deemed it safe for the guests to return. Just after 5:00 Thursday morning, all guests were allowed back in their rooms.
At this point, it's not clear why the fire alarm was going off. An investigation remains underway.
