KENNEWICK, Wash. -- A tip leads to a discovery of a marijuana grow operation at a Kennewick home. Police busted down the door at 1217 West 2nd Avenue on Thursday evening. They arrested 30 year old Jesus Gustavo Artega.
Officers say they confiscated about 14 pounds of the drug and 31 plants. Total value estimated at about $35,000. Police also say Artega told them he was a medical marijuana provider.
"The problem is that he was providing for himself and another individual, which is prohibited by law. In addition, he had well over the allotted amount of medical marijuana that's allowed by law," said Isaac Merk with the Kennewick Police Department.
Investigators are still looking into whether Artega actually has the right paperwork.
