Columbia Basin wins defensive battle

Pasco, Wash.---

     Football is back at Columbia Basin College for the first time since the early 1990s.  Now the Hawks football program is not affiliated with the college.  However, in order to play on the team, you must be enrolled in the school. 

     On Saturday, the Hawks improved to 2-1 on the season in the Northwest Community College Football League.  Columbia Basin defeated visiting Green River 6-0.  The Hawks lone score come on a Ryan Craig interception.  The Hanford High School product intercepted Caleb Tauni's pass to put the Hawks up for good.

    Columbia Basin played well defensively all afternoon.  The Hawks forcing five turnovers in all to keep Green River off the board.
