City staff recommends "No" on Little Badger condo development
RICHLAND, Wash -- The Development Services Committee has recommended a "no," on T-M-T Homes' proposal to build on 12 acres of land at the end of Meadow Hills Drive on Little Badger Mountain.
The Development Services Manager for Richland, Rick Simon says, "well why we recommended it be denied is it is our assessment that it doesn't fit in with the existing neighborhood. That the density is too great to be compatible. That there aren't good transitions and buffers these proposed three and four story buildings and the existing single family homes."
Meadow Hills Phase Three recommends the building of 60 three to four story condominiums on the property. The Development Services Committee will present their recommendation to the Planning Committee at a meeting on September 22 at Richland City Hall . The meeting is open to the public and starts at 7pm. The Planning committee will then make their recommendation to City Council who will vote on the issue.
