Coyote Ridge inmate in intensive care after being assaulted
CONNELL, Wash. -- Leaders from the Coyote Ridge Corrections Center in Connell are reporting an inmate is in intensive care after an assault Saturday. They say Andre Cook was found unconscious and unresponsive in a medium custody unit.
The report said Cook was first take to Lourdes Medical Center, then transferred to Kadlec Medical Center, however when we checked with the nursing supervisor at Kadlec late Monday evening, we were told he is not there.
Anthony turner is accused of the assault. He's being held in the segregation unit.
Turner has previous infractions for fighting, disruptive behavior, strong-arming, and intimidating. In addition to facing a potential criminal charge, Turner could be subject to a prison disciplinary sanction. Fighting is a serious infraction in prison which can result in the loss of earned time, loss of privileges and additional time in segregation.
Coyote Ridge Corrections Center in Connell currently houses 2140 minimum- and medium- custody offenders.
