PASCO, Wash. -- The Tri-Cities Community Health Center teamed up with Lourdes Medical Center to open a new urgent care facility in Pasco.
Wednesday was the grand opening on North 5th Avenue and Sylvester Street. It is designed to get people into the doctor's office within a 15-20 minute wait.
They also added on five additional rooms, a $260,000 project funded by stimulus grant money.
Right now the staff at the Tri-Cities Community Health Center (formerly known as La Clinica) sees about 70 people per day.
Steven Zirker, a Physician's Assistant at the health center said, "the idea is that we want to be able to get people in and help them with their needs and then help them find a primary home. And that primary home could be with either some one else, their old family's physician or get them to the ER, or internal medicine, or some type of service. We try to facilitate that for them."
The new urgent care center is open Monday through Saturday from 8 AM - 8 PM.
