RICHLAND Wash.-- Over 2,000 people with developmental disabilities are waiting for the Arc of Tri-Cities to expand.
This morning, the Arc had a benefit breakfast to fund the building of a new facility.
Organizers say so many people are in need of their services, a brand new 14,000 square foot building is required.
Currently, they say they have 500 adults on a waiting list for vocational and family services.
"It would open up opportunities for them to socialize, be with their friends, and not be isolated in their homes," say Program Coordinator Sue Pederson.
The Arc of Tri-Cities says in total the new building will cost 3.6 million dollars and they have about 400,000 dollars left to raise.
