SWAT arrests 5 Kennewick residents on drug charges
KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-Cities SWAT team arrested 5 suspects Friday morning on various drug charges.
Randy Sallee, 48, Ted Teichmer, 31, Jessi Mathews, 30, Raymond Maust, 51, and Kimberly Smith, 42, were arrested at 4901 W. 10th Ave. In Kennewick after an on-going narcotics investigation.
Police say they seized marijuana and meth from the house, but wouldn't say how much.
"Apparently it was about 5 or six o'clock this (Friday) morning. Everybody was sleeping, except the one guy who lives here was getting ready for work. And I guess they kicked the back glass door in because no one would open it, when you can't really open it," described Kaylinda Sweet, a friend of the suspects.
Sergeant Chris Guerrero with the Kennewick Police Department said, "The main reason the SWAT team was used to serve the search warrant was because of the criminal histories of the people involved, and the potential, for the possible potential for violence there."
4 of the 5 arrested were still in custody when KNDU check just before 5pm Friday. They face various drug charges.
