Walk to end ALS

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.—More than 300 people walked three miles around Columbia Park Saturday morning to raise money for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

People affected by the disease often become paralyzed and typically have two to five years to live once diagnosed.  About 30,000 people in the United States have the disease.

The ALS Association is working to find a cure.  About $22,000 was raised through the walk and will go toward research.

If you would like to donate to the ALS Association you can call Robin Hartman at (425) 656-1650.
