PASCO, Wash.—A community center will soon be fixed-up and ready for parents and students in Pasco.
Volunteers from the Columbia Center Rotary, the Pasco School District and a number of other organizations teamed up Sunday to talk about plans for the Lakeview Mobile Home Project.
The center is located in the Lakeview Community in Pasco.
Parents and students will be able to take classes or get help with homework. Volunteers have already started cleaning and repairing the building. They hope to start offering services this month.
"There hasn't been anything here for kids in many years," says Maria Montez, Student Achievement Specialist."
Playground equipment, a soccer field and a basketball court will also be built. Plus camping retreats will be available for those in the Lakeview Community once the center is complete.
