KENNEWICK, Wash. -- If you are Jim Hiller and the Tri-City Americans, you could not have asked for a better start. You unveil your 1st ever conference championship banner on Saturday night, then you beat your rival, and then on Sunday you complete a solid opening weekend against Seattle with a 4-1 win.
The Ams will now hit the road for the first time this season when they take on Kelowna Wednesday Night.
Coach Hiller says the 10 goals in the Ams 1st 2 games is just a testament to how good his players are.
"It's just good quality players with great leadership," said Hiller. "It's a pretty good combination for anybody to be around. It's a group that wants to win games. They've won a lot of games already."
"We go out there expecting to score and wanting to score so if we come off the ice empty-handed, we're not happy," said Captain Kruise Reddick. "We want to do better the next time."
"It's good to get a little momentum going into this big game against Kelowna on Wednesday," said Forward Jordan Messier. "They always play us tough, but we'll be ready."
