Benton PUD Celebrates with our Annual Senior Day
Thursday, October 7 – Benton PUD Auditoriums in Kennewick and Prosser
(Kennewick) Public Power Week, Oct. 3 – 9, 2010, highlights public owned electric utilities such as Benton PUD. There are over 2,000 public utilities across the nation and 28 PUDs in the state of Washington serving over two million people safe, reliable, not-for-profit electricity.
Each year, as part of Public Power Week, Benton PUD invites senior customers to Benton PUD's annual Senior Day on Thursday, October 7 at both the Kennewick Benton PUD Auditorium and Prosser Benton PUD Auditorium. It will be held 8:30 a.m. to noon at both locations.
Benton PUD and the Benton Franklin Community Action Committee will provide information and assistance for the Benton PUD's Low Income Senior discount. Customers can receive one-on-one help on enrollment and income verification by the Benton Franklin Community Action Committee.
Informational presentations will take place at the Kennewick Benton PUD Auditorium:
9:00 a.m. – The Rate Challenges Facing Benton PUD
9:45 a.m. – Ways to Save-Energy Tips and Rebates
10:30 a.m. – The Option of Solar Power for Your Home
Senior customers will receive a packet with information on electrical safety, energy saving tips and a free compact fluorescent light bulb. Coffee, juice and cookies will be served.
