Mass overdose at Roslyn house party involves CWU students
ROSLYN, Wash- Police say at least a dozen young people overdosed on an unknown substance at a house party in Roslyn Friday night.
Law enforcement was called out to a grocery store for reports of an overdose. The patient's friends directed police a house party. They arrived at the home to find eleven more people unconscious or semi conscious. A male was taken into custody after allegedly engaging in sexual activity with a semi conscious female.
Police believe something was put into the student's drinks. They say young women were targeted.
"Based on the fact that there were ten females and one male transported, and then based on some comments we're receiving about various cups or colors of cups being designated for females", says Cle Elum Police Chief Scott Ferguson.
The students who's ages range between 18 and 20 were transported to local area hospitals.. Police estimate 50 people were at the party and that most were students at Central Washington University. As of Saturday evening, the drugs used have not been identified. One person is still in an Ellensburg hospital in stable condition. The male taken into custody in relation to the sexual assault was released. The investigation into the night's events is on-going.
