Here we go again it's time for your Top 5 Plays of the Week:
5.) On the pitch Kamiakin and Kennewick girls soccer went pink for Breast Cancer Awareness month this past Tuesday. The Braves Heidi Leonard in the first half able to create space and bend one from one end of the post... to the other and in for the goal. Kamiakin would go on to win.
4.) Reversal of fortunes for Kennewick at Lampson Stadium on Thursday night. Lions quarterback Drew Loftus tossed up a jump ball and his receiver Devvan Ramos went up and made a play. More impressive than the snag between two defenders... his ability to hold on to the catch after getting drilled by Safety Cam Wager of Hanford.
3.) The catches in traffic keep pouring in. Matt Hodges Jr. of Hermiston threw a fade into the corner of the end zone... and wide out Joey Burns stole it right out of the hands of the defender.
2.) Back at the Lamp on Friday night undefeated Kamiakin rolled over visiting Southridge. Early in the game the defense getting to one of the league's top passers Matt Mendenhall. Shad Fletcher on a deep pass thrown by the Southridge QB leaped up and snag it for the interception. The Braves point guard in the winter also showed off a nice spin moved as he returned the pick for decent yardage.
1.) Play number one comes from the biggest game of the week. Columbia Basin soccer went up against division rival and second ranked Walla Walla. The winner of that game would sit in first place in the Eastern Division in the NWAACC. CBC's Gavin Richter crossed a beautiful feed in front... and teammate Ricky Chicas cashed in with a mid air leap for the game's only goal.
