Tri-City Americans center Brendan Shinnimin suspended
Tri-City Americans center Brendan Shinnimin has been suspended for 12 games. The WHL made the ruling today on Shinnimin's boarding major and game misconduct against Saskatoon on Josh Nicholls back October 6th. Nicholls on the hit suffered a concussion and a bruised knee and back. This 12 game suspension is the longest suspension handed down from the league in more than three seasons.
Shinnimin has been kept out of the Ams line up in the past three games. As a result those three games will count towards time served on his 12 game suspension. Shinnimin is allowed to practice with the team, but cannot play in the games.
When looking at the schedule Shinnimin is eligible to return to the line up November 13th against Spokane.
